Quick Collards

Ingredients:
One bunch of collards
3-4 cups chicken broth
6 pieces of cooked bacon
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp. sugar
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
Directions:
In a large sauce pan Cook bacon and remove from pan. Wash collards and cut out stems. Rough chop of the collard leaves only. In the same pan as the bacon, add 2 cups of chicken broth, sugar, salt, pepper and minced garlic cloves. Allow to come to a boil. Once boiling, add collards. Continue to cook on high for about 5 minutes or until the collards have reduced. Turn heat to medium and add bacon. Stir. At this point add one cup of chicken broth and continue to cook for about another 5 minutes. Broth will reduce. If needed add a fourth cup of chicken broth and continue to simmer, stirring occasionally until collards are tender. About another 10 minutes. Serves 4-6
