Ingredients:
6 tbsp. unsalted butter – softened
1/3 cup shortening
2 cups All Purpose flour
¾ cup sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 ½ tsp baking powder
Directions:
In a standing mixer, mix butte, shortening and sugar until blended. Add eggs and vanilla extract and mix. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt. Add the flour mixture to standing mixer once cup at a time and blend well. Refrigerate dough for one hour. Remove dough and roll and cut into desired shapes. Preheat oven to 325*F. Place the rolled cookies on a slightly greased cookie sheet. Place in the oven and bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly brown on the bottom. Remove from cookie sheet and allow the cookies to cool. Decorate with icing.
