Ingredients:
24 large shrimp (deveined and peeled with tail on)
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp salt
2 tbsp. unsalted butter
12 slices of bacon
½ cup Honey BBQ sauce of choice
1 package sliced Provolone Cheese
24 Wooden toothpicks
Directions:
In a medium size skillet, melt butter and spices together. Add shrimp and cook for about 3-4 minutes on medium high heat. Remove shrimp from pan, leaving the remaining butter sauce in the pan. Allow shrimp to cool. Cut bacon into halves making 24 pieces. Partially cook bacon. Bacon should be pliable not crispy. Wrap one bacon slice around one shrimp. Hold together with a toothpick. Cut each slice of cheese into 4 slices. Set aside. Once all of the shrimp have been wrapped and secured, Place in the oven on broil for 2 minutes. This will crisp the bacon. Remove from the oven and brush with BBQ sauce and immediately add cheese to cover the top of each shrimp. The cheese should melt while the shrimp is still hot. Serve warm.
