Christmas Ornaments

Christmas is a fun time of year to create your own themed tree or ornaments.

How to make your own Christmas ornaments cheap, fun and easy!

Purchase clear plastic shatterproof ornaments at your local craft store. I was able to buy 20 ornaments for less than ten dollars.

Then find the filler you want to use.  This can be glitter, Christmas pics, plastic fillers and so on.

Below, I will show you step by step on how to make these ornaments.

First, find the clear shatterproof ornaments you would like to decorate.  These ornaments come in a variety of shapes and sizes.

Pick out your fillers.

Finally, find your favorite 1/2″ ribbon.

Remove the top from the ornament to insert fillers.  See above.

When filling with glitter or cut up plastics, use a funnel and a straw.

I used Christmas pics that are used to make wreaths as shown above. I cut the berries off of the stems and placed them inside the ornament. I have also used glitter.

Once you have filled the ornament, replace the top.

Take the ribbon and place it through the loop of the top piece.  Then cut to desired length.  For longer hanging ornaments, cut 8 ” of ribbon.  For shorter hanging ornaments, use 4″ of ribbon.  I Like to use 6-8″ ribbon strips. This is only a preference. Tie a knot at the top of the ribbon so your ornaments can hang on your tree.

This is the ornament I made using cut up plastic.  I wanted mine to look like snow.  You can find other colors of cut up plastic if you would like to add more color.

Your ornaments can be as unique as you like. Your friends and family will want to know where you got them.  This is fun to do with friends and children alike. It is easy and inexpensive as well.
